We’re going “Herb” Wild!

Go “Herb” Wild!! Over the next few days I will share with you a few new uses for your favorite herbs that are sure to put dazzle in your dinner…and you’ll never mistake cilantro for parsley again!

Let’s get started with one of my favorites – BASIL

BasilOne of the most aromatic herbs around, tender basil leaves have a flavor that is pungent, sweet and savory! The standard way to use this fragrant herb is in pasta dishes and on pizzas, but basil can add fresh flavor to omelets, curries, BLT’s and fruit salads!  Try it!

Day 2 !  Let’s talk about CHIVES

ChivesA delicate green that is a cross between onion and garlic in flavor; chives have a crisp, juicy texture that makes them great for mild dishes like an omelet! Add chives to puréed soups, egg dishes, gratins, risottos, biscuits, savory scones and all kinds of “mashes” (sweet potato, garlic, chive mash!!) Skip cutting chives with a knife, it is waaaay easier to snip them with kitchen scissors!
