As most of you know, this is my 8th year being in business. Over these eight years, my business has grown and I have had many hands helping me, for which I am super thankful. Despite this, I am still the face of the company. Sorry, guys. HAHA.
I’ve actually contemplated the idea of making my business more corporate-like and less of a one woman show…but then I realized ultimately this is what my company is AND it is what I WANT it to be. This isn’t a big corporation. When you hire Eat Your Heart Out Edibles, you are working with me. I cook your meals, I design your menus, and I speak with you directly. That’s what sets me apart from the other meal services out there. I take pride in my business and I enjoy getting to know my clients, not only through their food assessments, but on a personal level as well.
For this week’s blog, I wanted to put more meaning behind the word personal, rather than chef. I’m convinced that some of you think I am a bowl of bulgur or a chicken cutlet, because all I do is post pictures of food. But, in fact, I am an actual human being, and, surprisingly I do enjoy doing other things outside of cooking. From time to time, I’m going to try and shed more light on the chick behind the chef coat, but for starters here are 10 random facts about me:
1. No, I did not burn my forehead (and yes, I’ve had clients ask me that). I was born with a birthmark (or beauty mark as my mother always hypes it up to be HAHA) smack dab on the center of my forehead. Obvi, I’m used to it and don’t even realize what people are talking about when they mention it. But it’s actually one of my favorite parts about me. It makes me unique and sets me apart from everyone else.
2. In my previous life, I used to take acting classes, dancing classes, had an agent, and attempted to become famous…I hope to get back to theater and dancing, and would love to ultimately tie this all together and have a cooking show. Look out Rachael Ray!
3. I have performed on Broadway. When I was 18, I was accepted into the Radio City Rockettes summer training program and our final performance was at the American Airlines Theater on Broadway.
4. I have a serious obsession with jewelry. It doesn’t need to be expensive jewelry, either. I see you, Target jewelry department!
5. I hate all forms of shopping, other than grocery shopping or looking for jewelry, of course.
6. I hate all lemon-y things.
7. I literally have never eaten in a school cafeteria or had to answer to a homeroom bell.
8. I’m never too full, too cold, or too tired to eat ice cream.
9. I can’t parallel park to save my life.
10. I’ve never been outside the country (but I thoroughly enjoy Epcot LOL)
There you have it, it’s a starting point. I’m saving all the “juicy” facts for another post! 🙂
